Hi all! Please allow me to lob some Kindergarten- esque questions at you :)

Hi all!

I joined because I bought a used car mega cheap, that had superficial, cosmetic issues that terrified off all the other buyers, so I got it even cheaper. It has turned out to be the deal of my lifetime (probably)

So as I've been exploring my 4 day old ride, I've discovered a lot of incredibly cool custom modifications the former owner did. Whoever he was (I bought it from a used car lot; I wasn't told anything about its past.) he loved the car & he had him some skillz! He did really nice looking mechanical stuff under the hood, and really impressive wiring for all kinds of things, including audio.

So some of the more obvious things I've found, plug things wired into the trunk, hidden under the spare tire, that look like I could plug speaker(s?) into.(?). they are fat and say something on it (I can't remember what; something that implies they are for audio) They are fatter than wires you'd use for home theater.

Ok, but something completely lost on me is these things in both front doors. They say "Picasso" on top, then they are velcroed into the little built in pocket of the door, but I ripped them off the velcro to see what the heck they are, and they say 'soundstream', or 'sound system' or something, then a bunch of letters & numbers I can't really remember what they said. And they have a BUNCH of wires attached to them. So many I was scared I was going to get shocked if I held them, Yiii-iikes!

Ok, so Dr. Google says it is some kind of amp; (2 of them, apparently) So... what does that mean?

I don't know if I'm allowed to post pictures, but it's a very curious setup (to me). I primarily listen to NPR (the am news & talk shows, not the classical music) & sermon audio, should I hit a pawn shop & get some rockin' trunk speakers and hook 'em up to the fat wires in the trunk and blast my pastor's sermons lol? How do I know what a good trunk speaker is? What do I do about the amplifiers, I don't understand them. I didn't see switches or knobs (I'm only familiar with guitar amplifiers), so do I just leave them in their lil velcroed home and pretend they aren't there, maybe cover them with a tasteful doily made of Irish lace or something?

Ok, what do I do? It seems a shame to let his incredible improvements go to waste; he obviously spent some cash on it (probably more than I spent for the entire car!!)
