hey

Why would you buy a car if you thought it would need a new engine down the line:eyebrow: . The miles dont really matter as long as the scheduled maintnance was perfomed on the engine. I have an S-10 with 247,000 miles on it and it still runs like a champ, considering I maintnance it when required. An engine swap can get expensive.

Any small block chevy V8 will fit in there, wrecking yards are full of them and 100's of companys offer rebuilt and high performance crate small blocks in a wide range of prices.

Just have it bored out and buy a new rotating assembly and bring it to a machine shop and let them put it together,or if u want, and have them check clearances, and ur good not a whole lotta work, but u can also just buy a new bottom(not much$ at all) block and all for cheap as long as u not planning on turnin like 7000 rpms or anything,

first, if it's an older carb'ed SBC, get a GM longblock, like $1200 with a 3 year warranty, good solid motors...if it's a new fuel injected one, you need one, made for a FI setup.

IE TBI, Vortec, or older carbed SBC vary...
