Hey guys im nick, i live in canada, im 18. I have no experience with car audio of any sort . I just got my first car, a beat 95 Chevy Lumina, brand new engine in it but i got it for free so who cares!....Months ago before i owned the car my friend was getting rid of her system for a new one and i bought :

2 Alpine 10" Type S 900W Dual 2 OhPower range 50-300 watts RMS (150 watts per coil) Peak power handling 900 watts W/ Box

1 Logic SoundLab CPX620 310 Watts X 2 Channel Amp CPX620

2 JBL gto926 6" by 9" two way 100WRMS 300W Peak

2 JBL gto626 6 1/2in" two-way 60W RMS 100W Peak

1 Pioneer Deck

For $ 400 Can.

A few questions:

Did i get a good deal or get riped off?

She said it was a good deal but I am a little ignorant to the subject

Second question: Is there like a newbie sections where i can read up on something that would introduce me to car audio?

Third: I would like to hook my system up myself but keep hearing horror stories of people who did and messed everything up....Good or bad idea? I wouldnt like to pay to have it done since the system itself aint much and i wouldnt like to invest more money into it unless i was buying new stuff to add to it but if its a really bad idea i will have it done professialy

Fourth: Anyone local southern ontario near barrie know any good places? Whats your view on places like best buy and future shop?

Thanks, Nick:)

sounds like a good deal to me for a deck, subs, speakers, and amp. I wouldnt hook it up yourself until you read up on proper install techniques....unless you can tear your car apart, slowly do it, and refer back to here day by day as you run into questions...just DO NOT keep making new threads or people you btich you out bad, and you will get no help...just an FYI.

get all the install materials you need first... amp kit, terminals, other wires, screws, crimp caps....honestly i'd have the radio installed by someone else...and maybe the wires ran for you, that way all you have to do it hook it up, and you can see what had to be installed in order to hook it up.

Thanks guys,

Thanks for the heads up snb, i have been on many other forums for various things and have watched other people be blacklisted as an annoyance but i figured i would post see if anyone could answer the few questions i had
