Herniated Disc

Anyone have this? I've been dealing with it for a while now and finally started seeing a physical therapist as well as a chiropractor. I'm on this machine that basically stretches your spine out to create a "vacuum" to **** the disc back into place. Curious as to what those of you who have/had this did to get better? I've been going for 3 weeks now and today my nerve was pinched so bad that I couldn't walk 10 feet without having the worst "cramp" feeling in my right leg. They even told me I might have to find a new sport. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

what sport do you play?
I've been riding BMX for over 8 years. used to play Baseball & some basketball, but I've all but quit those. The worst part is that I went to visit my older bro last weekend in Georgia and I couldn't play basketball cause it honestly hurt to do a jump shot. I dunno man...it just bums me out. I start thinking about not being able to play with my kids (when I have them) if this gets too bad, but then I tell myself that I'm worrying too much. I usually don't sweat things, but going from being very active to not being able to stand up more than 1 minute kinda kills things. I'm just hoping for the best with the PT & Chiro. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

They need to get you on a machine called the Reverse Hyperextension

That ofcouse is when you get a bit of your strenght back. That ^ however is your key to getting your back back to normal back on that bike. I wouldnt recommend getting on a bike again though until you're past what your previous 100% was.

Well at least you can do stuff I asume. I used to be able to do lots of things like sports and have a good paying job that I no longer have due to this HD shit! Now I am in loss prevention and I get by, but I miss the active days when I could do what I wanted. Thing was I at the time when I didnt have a herniated disc was even bigger than I am now, but was in a shit ton better shape cause I was active, just ate like a madman.

Now I get out of breath if I run 10 steps! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif and I am 50 pounds less. I actually need surgery, but have been told by a few people in the medical field that they are not always successful and the road to recovery is a bumpy one.

So at this moment I am stuck cause I dont want to end up a vegetable and having to go to the doctors or chropracter(sp) once a week.
