I made a post about my herniated disc last week. I went to my neurosurgeon yesterday and my x-rays look the same as last year which is a good thing. He's sending me back to physical therapy (but I'm going to a legit one now, not the Chiropractor's version of one). I'm getting another MRI just to make sure nothing has changed, but I'm pretty hopeful that everything will work out for me. :thumb:
Now, the crazy part. Yesterday I went to lunch with some friends from High School, one of whom I work with. He picked me up and asked how my back was and I told him about going to the Neuro later that day (yesterday). A co-worker of his asked what happened, and I got to yapping about it. I said that it started off as just stiffness and that's how herniated discs usually surface, then the pain gets stronger and eventually you get numbness and pain in your leg.
My friend said that his back had been hurting him (he's an all-around athlete) and I suggested him getting it looked at just in case. This is the e-mail I got from him this morning:
"Hey man how is your back. Mine's not so good. My orthopedic surgeon says it is a bulging disk so he sent me a steroid pack, some muscle relaxers, and suggest that I go to therapy."
I suggest you guys pay attention to your body if your athletic (or even not). You never know...
