I've installed some amps and subs before but now I'm thinking about installing some speakers. This is new territory to me so I got some questions.

1. I want to replace the stock speakers in my dodge shadow. I'm looking at something easy on the wallet and doesnt need an amp to power it. (i havent measured the size of the speakers yet) any ideas?

2. Lets say I get a new car and want to take my old speakers out and put them in a new car, and lets say the speakers size are different from the old car. Are there kits out there that will allow me to put in (for example) 4" speakers in a 6" base?

thanks

Not really a point to upgrading stock speakers if you aren't going to amplify them, IMO.

There's always something that can be done to make a speaker fit.

I'm not really looking for superior quality. I've heard some stock speakers that sound decent. I dont know if the wattage in the shadow is enough for it though.

I dont see it as much of an upgrade if you arent going to amplify them, because you wont reach the full potential of the new speakers until you do...

ok then how much will an amp for a 6 speaker set run me around? price is an issue
You can always buy the new speakers and see if you like them. If you do, there is no point in buying an amp for them.

On the other hand, if you dont like how they sound, you can save up for an amp later down the road.

And theres no way to tell how much an amp would cost for the speakers without knowing what the specs on the speakers are.

depends. I was going to look at some numbers and think it over. again im not looking for a nice system...just something better then the godaweful stock
