Helping out a friend

My buddy has a Mitsubishi lancer with a pair of Jl w6 10's in a sealed enclosure on a 1200watt gmax.

Subs are facing rear and it sounds ok but I have convinced him to do a simple wall.

He doesn't believe that using deadener and foam around the trunk, building a wall to enclose the subs facing into the cab will make much of a difference.

There is also a rectangle cover where the arm rest comes out that I wanna cut out so he doesn't have to pull his seats down.

So i'm looking for some help in confirming what I think i already know. The only question is how much space between the subs and the armrest port do I wanna have.

I'm pretty sure this upgrade will make a monumental difference as those JL's love to be sealed up in the trunk.

u need to convince him??? has he heard any of your setups? Took 3 seconds for my friend to convince me to build a Wicked One. Sat in the car and listened to it (after I'd heard many ported and sealed boxes my other friends had) I was like WOW HOLY S**T //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

tomorrow he will see. he trust me, he just dont think it will make a big difference.

I just need to figure out the distance in which to place the box from the back of the seats. I figure about 8 inches will do it so the arm rest port will work nicely
