Hey guys and gals! I am getting ready to completely rework my 02 Tahoe. I am doing the carpet, headliner, making a custom console, basically doing a color change in my interior going from neutral and more neutral to black and Neutral. My last sub build was in the 90's (telling my age, I know) with a 1971 Porsche 911 Targa with a complete Alpine system with 2 12's so yeah......I am out of the loop with sub builds. Anyway, I need some advice on the sub selection, but I don't want this to be a vs. thread. I have been doing research for the past couple months and every time I seem to find the right sub, I search just a little bit more and find more negative than positive reviews. Unfortunately, I am a perfectionist at times...especially with my music. Being a drummer and guitar player has that effect on people I guess I am leaning towards 3 10's , 2 12's or 3 12's behind the 2nd row seats of my Tahoe. My maximum box specs would be 48"L, 20"H and 12"-14" deep. since I need to keep some space. My budget is under $500 for subs and preferably under 600-800 each. I like it loud at times and mellow other times. I like feeling the bass of the kick drum and enjoying the bass guitar's minor changes in rock (Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold etc....) but also like the deep bass hits in hip-hop and rap occasionally. Any advice would be helpful and thanks in advance.
@BoominTAHOE should be able to help (look at his box in his avatar )
