Well today when i was on my way to school my amp just didnt work, the power was on and everything it just wasnt working for the subs? I have no clue what the deal was but when i came out of school they still didnt work and then like 4 mins after my car was on and i was driving i heard the amp kinda pop really faintly and they subs just started hitting again? WTF is going on? Also, when you touch my amp, it will sometimes shock you and it will faintly pop? WTF also? whats going on here???? Someone please help me. Thank you very very much.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Should i check the RCA's hook up on the H.U. too? Or would it just be the rca's to the amp? Okay i will try and re ground it and see how that goes sometime. Thanks for your input!

disconnect everything and rewire everything... could be any problem, check for bad contact and check the ground aswell
doesn't seem like the amplifier is the guilty on that one

Odds are it is not his power wire, maybe ground is bad spot from the static shock but he has had power the whole time. Odds would be the rca's are loose on the hu or the amp. And possibly your speaker wire. How many subs etc could be inside the box if you jumped a few subs together and a main one going to the amp is loose.

Everything is basically brand new. Everything's been used for like a week. Ill redo the ground and check the RCA's first.

P.S.- These fukin DD's hit soooo **** hard for 2 10's. Its insane! I dont know many 10's that can make you feel kinda sick off about 800 watts or so. Geezus!

ya it could be anything, stuff like this happens all time, little things. but you have a really nice system, how do you like your HU? im thinking about buying one

Thanks splguy. Voa i didnt quite understand what you meant in your last sentence but i guess your just saying to check the RCA's first.

I tried to break it down to prove what happens.

1) your amp had power- this means your power wire, fuse and remote wire ground are fine. None of them are a problem.

2)you get a shock from the amp ( your ground might be in a bad spot)

3) no subs working possible causes- speaker wire is loose some place- rca is loose some place.

To fix.

Turn your stereo on push your rcas in see if the subs start to work, check your speaker wire on the amp and inside the box along with your hu rca's one of these is your problem if none of them fix it then it would be your amp

Okay thanks Voa. Now its working fine again. I'll still check everything just to make sure i have good connections and see if i cant move my ground b/c that shock isnt to pretty.
