Headlight/Car/I dont know what the hell is wrong

Ok, so about a week ago I started my car and pulled my headlight knob to the running light position. and nothing came on, not my dash lights or signal lights. i tapped the knob and they came on so i was like whatever. now today going to work i pulled knob to running light position and nothing came on. i pushed it in, pulled out nothing worked. but i pulled knob all way and my headlights did work with no corner lights. coming home from work tonight, i started my car, stereo turned on then the dash lights came on and corner lights did work. i dont know if i have a short somewhere... if a bad ground on my amp would do anything. i had a new headlight knob put in a while back i dont know if its that or what. any help guys? thanks i have a mustang if anyone has experience. i live in rainy washington and there have been some flooding and ive gone through some puddles hopefully nothing got shorted.

Ford has a update for faulty Headlight switchs. Something to do with the connector harness.

Don't know if yours is part of it. Check there Site for recall bulletins.
