Head Unit Turns on and plays but no sound?????

i was playing music on the way home after i just installed an ipod wire into my headunit and the music just stopped playing i know one of the speakers was on its way out but i know that cant be the case because all my speakers just stopped playing and im not sure why? the head unit stil works and still has power does anyone have any clue why it would do that?

The internal amp in the HU could be blown.

I have had 2 cheap HU's do that to me before.

so basically i would have to get an amp in order for it to work now?

If the RCA output on the HU still work, then just add another external amp to power your highs.

Or get a new deck.

the RCA's should work i've never hooked anything up to them
