Head Unit THD Question

I've never thought about this before but isn't the THD only related to the speaker "Amplified" outputs, that I have never used and wont use, of the head unit? I see the DEH-80 PRS Pioneer has 5% and the Kenwood DNX 575S which is being discontinued is .010 . I'm chasing my tail trying to find the best head unit for SQ. I see the price dropped considerably on the DNX 576S Kenwood, figuring it was the replacement but wondering why the price difference. I don't care about it being a double din because I'll have to modify my dash to get it in anyway but if I have to do that to get better sound I will. Sorry for the dumb question. I'm just so far behind on all this technology out there now but I'm researching and learning. I just bought a 400 watt Helix 4 channel amp to replace my helix 5 channel amp with problems so I've got to find a sub amp now. I had 2 Audio Control 4 ones screw up so I'm looking for replacements for them too.

Those numbers dont matter anywhere as much as the type of DAC used and the 80 prs uses a quality burr brown dac along with a full blown DSP which allows you to go active networks and give you a much more thorough tuning option than the kenwood by far, like absolutely no competition. Run your components in Network mode and the pioneer will absolutely smash the kenwood in terms of SQ. Its literally the choice for almost anyone wanting SQ for the past decade.

There are a couple of options. You can use a marine bt unit. They come in the size of a hockey puck and can mount anywhere. This is the marine unit.

There are bluetooth amplifiers. You can just use your phone or an I Pod as the music source and not touch the radio.
