I'm building a system again after many years. Looking to go active, was going to go with a dsp and or active crossover set up of some sort but now I have heard about the Pioneer 80prs. This seems to do everything I really need. What are or are there other options for similar head units crossover,EQ....

I can go either dual or single DIN and would like to stay in a similar price ballpark to the pioneer. Suggestions and opinions please.

THANKS

if im not mistaken there is no other comparable to the 80prs if your after the crossover capability
Wrong, the Clarion CZ702 has a similar crossover setup and it's cheaper than the 80PRS. This has been known for a long time.

there you go, Trumpet knows all this, all i see on forums most of the time is the 80prs. i would go with the clarion if its cheaper and the same

Does it have similar EQ? Would like to not buy another unit to try to tune it all.
It definitely does not match the 80PRS for the EQ. The Pioneer has separate left and right EQ, which is really crucial for dialing in the best imaging for the driver's seat. However, the 5-band parametric EQ on the CZ702 is no slouch. You also have the option of automatic EQ and time alignment on the 80PRS. I've not used the 80PRS but a lot of people report it to be difficult to use, and I really don't like Pioneer's multi-way volume knob. If you can see them both in person it would help you decide.

It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...

There are a couple of options. You can use a marine bt unit. They come in the size of a hockey puck and can mount anywhere. This is the marine unit.

There are bluetooth amplifiers. You can just use your phone or an I Pod as the music source and not touch the radio.
