Head unit suggestio please

Looking to stay under $170. Music will be through an ipod in AAC format. Fronts are 6.5 infinity kappa components. Rears are 6.5 jl 6w3v3. No amp yet, got a thread going on it. Looking for clarity. Interested in a pioneer deh 3200ub. Pioneer DEH-3200UB (deh3200ub) - Car Stereo Head Unit In-Dash Receiver - Sonic Electronix Because it is ipod ready and will play AAC. But you guys know more about it than me,,, so hoping for the best one for the money. I have no problem with running the ipod through an aux on the front as long as sq is the same as the cable. Also it would not have to be AAC compatible if through an aux. Looking in to Kenwood as well. Please help me to pick the best bang for the buck.

Any suggestions? The last time I bought a head unit was 1996. I have no idea what all of these new features are. As for the amp I went with an old school denon. Through searching I see pioneer, kenwood and eclipse. Which has the best sound quality in the under $200 range?

Get a used P860MP on ebay. I jsut got one, its older but **** it sounds 10000x better than anything new for under 200. has time alignment and 13 band eq. can also get an ipod adapter for it. p5000ub is a good unit for your price range too. Pioneers usually have higher pre outs in that price range too 4v as opposed to an alpine with 2v. not much experience with the kenwood units on my part though. My best suggestion is to find a used/older sq unit that can use an ipod adapter.

If you could find an Alpine deck with full iPod support for around 100-150 bucks I would jump on that. I have one for sale, it's an Alpine CDA-9856 with full iPod support and its in mint condition, though I'd really like 150 for it. Maybe we could work something out.
