Head Unit shuts off and restarts on its own.

I've read posts about possibly fixes for this issue and all recommended solutions such as a speaker shorting out or a ground being bad is not the case. My setup is a Kenwood DDX418 touch screen deck and didn't start having problems with it until about a month after installation. The unit shuts itself down and restarts which I have not determined to not be volume level dependent as it restarts just as frequent at low to no volume as it does with mid to full volume (about every couple minutes or so). It's installed in a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 (new body style) with OnStar and the standard Bose Acoustic package. In order for an after market deck to work with the Bose you must install a replacement stereo interface which I got (Scosche GM21SR - High-speed LAN stereo replacement interface). I ruled out the head unit overheating and I'm still puzzled about the possible solution.

The first two images are the wiring diagrams provided by Scosche for the replacement interface. The third image is the wiring diagram provided by Kenwood for the head unit.

My one concern with the provided diagrams is the Blue/White wire. Kenwood says "When using the Optional power amplifier, connect to its power control terminal. Schosche says "+ 12V Remote Output (Amp remote, Radio On Signal)." I have my Amp for my subs attached to the RED - Accessory (+12V) wire which is the one where the power turns on with the key like normal. I also ran a voltmeter on the Blue/White wire Which gave me 12V remote from the head unit and also gave me 12V remote from the Schosche. I currently have these two wires together because that is that the Schosche diagram shows and because I'm using the Red wire as my remote for the subs amp. Is this the problem with the setup or does someone else have another input on the possible solution. I'm currently an engineering student and I'm probably over thinking this, but any input on the solution I will give a try.

If I understand you correctly you are powering you amps remote wire with the red ACC from the Scosche kit? If this is the case move it over to the blu/wht. Is this one of the scosche kits that uses the DPST relay to pull power from another source when the ign is on...if it is, you might just have a bad relay, the ones that come with those kits are crap IMO. If it isn't using a relay and you have the remote for the amp ties to the ACC, you may be drawing more current than the scosche interface can source and its droping out, causing you HU to shut off. Just a few thoughts...

I'm going to replace the relay with a better one and move the amp remote to the Blue/White wire and report back with the results. thanks
