with that enclosure size i would say anything from 2k to 3k. Sleepy_jr runs 4k to each of his 2 18s

enclosure is on the small side. Mine in 5.75 at 38hz took an aq2200 with no problems, could have used more power.

Do you have an amp? Get an AQ 2200D.

na right now iam braking it in on 700 watts

On the small side for what?It should be fine in 5cf.
For SPL its WAY TOO SMALL.10cf @ 43hz would be near perfect.

we had a pair of copper hdc3-18's on 7-10kw in 16cf net @38hz.

small per DJ's recommendations, also saying mechanically they'd probably take a lot of power in that small of a box. Thermal would probably be a concern first

i know this is kinda a hijack and im sorry but, the hdc312 should handle the same power correct? becuase im only pushing 1200w to mine now and it seems to handle it more than easily

yes, same motor as the 18" sub.

For the OP with 700watts you're not even tickling that sub. Get around 3k of power and solid electrical. I run a 3500D on each of my HDC's with no issues.

i wish i could afford the 2200. my car cant even handle the 1200rms from this amp though.(waiting on ho alt) ive seen some cars with batterys in the trunk to handle the power. anyone got any link or info i can readup on i love learning as much as possible
