hd3 15" vs mag 15" vs btl 15" vs 12" mojo

first of all i have researched this site daily since November while ive been saving so not trying to ask the typical newbie question. with so many biased and newbie opinions im lost on who to take advice from. For power i have a xtant 1001x pushing out 1000 at 2ohm n 1600 at 1. sometime down the road im considering adding another one to strap but want a single sub for a 91 mercury cougar (same as a thunderbird) so i have about 7-8 cubes to work with. im leaning towards spl but since i drive alot still want to retain decent sq. also want to go ported since all of my music involves extremely low basslines (southern style rap such as 36 and jeezy)

working with roughly $400 for a sub alone what would you reccomend and please dont reply if you dont have experience with at least one of the subs. i know im comparing the so called "forum boners" but with the hours of research ive done these are what ive finally narrowed it down to. thanks for the input

a 15 I would recommend a mag, if u like a little bit of SQ mixed with output

if you had 2k power on tap I would say definitely an HD3, and if you had even more power than that I would say a BTL

AQ for your application 1600 @ 1 ohm. I had similar DD and I have Mag 12. 1600 a little much for a Mag Daily IMO, but the AQ will take it and yearn for more. Plus sound pretty good doing it.

I wouldnt even put the mojo in that list. With the 1000W @ 2ohm, I'd get a 15" Mag with Dual 4ohm coils, toss it in about 3.75ft^3 tuned at 32hz and enjoy.

also i tend to want more bass which is why im considering the hd3 and btl so i know that down the road it if i add another amp i could push it safely. im into the idea of 1 good sub so getting a mag would limit me to getting another mag if i want more output which is kind of turning me off of the mag...from what everybody says the mag cant be beat for a great all around dd

btw forgot to mention the mojo is only on the list because i could get a practically new one in a nice ported box for around 250-300. sounds a bit sloppy to me and only hits right on select songs tho

a 15" mag could def handle 1600 watts in the right box as long as it was clean power

and dont worry it will get LOUD

I have a 12" Mag right now that loves that 1,500 watts from my US amps MD2D, as far as the Mojo Goes it is an awsome sub, but unless you are going to put a ton of power on it dont bother, us guys at sound check have put 1 on the memphis 4kw and it love it, dont have any experience with the other 2 subs

Mags are more expensive than your budget. If the cougar has just one cabin with trunk included, you dont need the biggest baddest to have deafening music. How can you compare a 12" mojo to all these 15"s? Well there are a lot of questions but it all will come to your preference. You said you have done "hours of research" so with that knowledge just pick one out of the hat. People have different tastes and all these people with opinions might not be shared by you once you power up that MAg or Mojo or HD3. be smart.
