It seems as though the car audio gods are laughing at me yet again. i was driving around tonight bumping, at a normal volume, not somthing to make my ears bleed, and we stop at a local dealership. i get out to look at a camaro SS. my gf says, that she just heard somthing like fireworks from the trunk, and that it smells really bad. Im like wtf??? so i check the sub, it's fine. then, i pull down my back seat and i wanted to cry like an infant.

I see my brand new HCCA5000, installed for barely a week, smoking.

yes, smoking.

it was smoking from the side were the power wire inputs are, and it smelled really bad.

I did not install any of this, it was done by the CC roadshop, and everything was fine and dandy until i had the issue earlier, where i would lose bass.

has anyone ever dealt with orion before for warranty repairs/rma? this amp is BARELY 2 weeks old and it just fried on me.

Only thing to do is call DEI, youll have to send it in to them, and eventually get a new one.

Did they install the amp properly...There are only a hand full of CC employees that I would trust to install an amp that large.
