HC800 as main batt?

Im looking to replace my battery in my '87 Celica. Its not huge, so I don't think I can put a monster 1400 or 2400 under the hood. Would a Kinetik HC800 suffice as a main battery?

it will run the car but if you want to do too much audio off of it you may want to think about doing a rear battery.

Yes, I plan on putting a 600 or 800 in the rear as well. I just don't feel too confident with the battery in there, based on my factory voltmeter on the gauge cluster. Sits at like 16v, and with the blinker on it fluctuates just a tiny bit. I don't like it.

the 1400 should fit fine and will run a light stereo up to maybe a 1000d and a mid amp. then you wouldnt need to get a second battery and the cost should be close with one 1400 vs 2 800s

Its a beater. But unlike most beaters, I'm going to build most of what I want in this system, and then transfer it when i get a better car. Im just downsizing the subs to a single sub, on a moderate amp, a simple pair of 6x9s in the rear deck, since the fronts are 4's. Theyll be on a small amp. But being so old, I have no clue what kinda amperage the alt puts out, and furthermore I don't think anyone makes a HO alt for it.

For the price of those batts I would consider an alt upgrade.Try iraggi or excessive amperage for availability

IIRC Kinetik recommended an 800 for the front of my truck (and a 2400 for the rear). So I would think they suffice for turning an engine over, if that's what you mean. I haven't purchased mine yet so I cant say for sure, but Im confident it would work fine.

Iraggi has one, 70amp idle 160amp max. $229. Not a bad price. I still need a battery regardless. I don't like mine at all. It makes me paranoid.

800 and 600's are fine under the hood only reason i wouldnt do it is in case you leave your lights on/play the stereo with the engine off over an extended period of time. if it were me i would do the 1400.

that could be ok or it might not be depending on what the system is ands how loud it is playing...a 1400 can be mounted on its side or even upside down. its an easy fit in most cars stock location unless you have a honda with a tricked out intercooler

a 1400 should fit inside it, why not just take measurements of the space u go tan compare with the dimensions of the 1400
