For the sealant I've always liked using Silicone Sealant/Adhesive.

Screws, get SPAX MDF/Hardwood screws if you can, no predrilling and they kinda countersink themselves, these screws are amazing!

I don't normally seal subs in while mounting, but I've seen people use weatherstripping and for SPL competition, duct tape. I just use the gasket though.. Seals good enough for me, but I'm not a .1 chaser.

That should be about it. And remember, measure twice, cut once //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

i always predrill just in case, but thanks for the info. what length screws? and i know to use carpenters glue, but is there a specific kind that people recomened?

also, i dont have rubber gaskets for sealing my subs in, what could i use?

1-5/8" Coarse thread drywall screws with a 3/32" pre drilled hole.

Use any of the Titebond glue.

Find some foam weather stripping

With the SPAX I use 1 3/4, if you don't plan on using SPAX then do as SPY recommended, 1 5/8" Coarse drywall screws predrilled.

I like Titebond, but Elmer's wood glue is also good.

Without a rubber gasket, I'd recommend weather stripping most definitely //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

I use:

#6 all purpose 1.5" countersink screws

1/8 drill bit to predrill

countersink bit

(or 1 1/4" brad nails and a brad nailer/compressor instead of above)

tightbond 2

2 corner clamps

4 x 36" heavy duty Home Depot wood clamps (orange ones)

2 saw horses

This is assuming you have the wood cut and circle holes taken care of.

If not you needs more stuffs.

ok guys thanks for the help......for the silicone sealant should i get window and door sealant or should i get siding and window sealant? (im guessing siding sealant because i think MDF is used for siding sometimes!) anyone have a specific sealant they like?

Once again thanks guys for your input!
