Hardest hit for around $150?

I have an 800 watt 1 channel stereo kenwood amp and i'm looking to upgrade my subs too. Basically I want the hardest hit possible but the best sound qualty too (I dont need to be heard from a mile away so loudness isn't important, however SQ is). I would like to shoot for around or under $150. I was looking at solo bariks or other kickers, but i was just gonna ask you guys cause you would know better than I. I have gone through multiple 10's (an MTX in a bandpass box, Type E, P1) and I finally heard a 12 of my friends, and there is a real difference in the hardness of the hit so now I want a 12 or bigger. help me out.

ebay buddy, 15" kicker comp vr, 12 inch l5, 10 inch l7, 2 12inch comps vr's, 3 10inch comps, 2 15 inch comps, 2 10" w1v2s, 2 12" p2's, 1 12" p3, 1 12" w3v2, um there are so many choices, whats your amp rated at, do you want some spl along wit the sq, ported sealed, but ure best bet would prob be 1 12" l5 ported or the 12w3v2

Stereo, by definition, means separate left and right channels. If your amp is a one channel (mono) amp it isn't stereo. That aside, which model amp, specifically, are we talking about?

The 'hardest hit' is going to be what provides more SPL (which equates to volume level) whereas SQ is going to be how source-accurate its sound reproduction is. The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive but a well balanced combination of both, or SQL, is really what I'm thinking you might be after.

That can potentially be achieved bu first we need to know what kind of available power we have to work with to be able to provide a more educated response (hence my asking what model amp)

Manufacturer spec's.

Kenwood Kac-7201 (its a few years old i think)

Bridged Power Output at 14.4V (1kHz, 0.8% THD): 460 Watts x 1

Maximum Output Power: 800 Watts

Power Output at 2 Ohms, at 14.4V (1kHz, 0.8% THD): 230 Watts x 2

Power Output at 4 Ohms, at 14.4V (20Hz-20kHz, 0.08% THD): 150 Watts x 2

Ground Isolation Circuit

High-Pass Electronic Crossover: 150Hz, 12dB/oct (Switchable)

Gold-Plated RCA inputs and outputs

Variable Low-Pass Electronic Crossover: 50Hz -200Hz, 18dB per Octave

Bass Boost: Off/+12dB (90Hz)

I drive a (black)94 cadillac eldorado, lots of trunk space, and I plan to put soundproofing in the trunk if I can. I listen to mainly or pretty much only Metal. Metal and Bjork (Bjork's bass rules). The stuff I listen to tends be a very bass heavy brand of metal (called Doom/Stoner metal) and its usually produced very well with A LOT of low end. Of course I also listen to the extremely fast double bass kinda metal like most people think of when they think of metal.

So i need something that can keep up with the extremely fast and still hit hard as hell and acurate, for metal and for everything else. I am a musician and I activley record myself + others so I have very good ears, thats why I said i wanted a lot of SQ, because I can hear the differnce unlike some might not be able to because I'm trained to listen for such things.

Therefore, I'd assume I want a sealed box for the accuracy, and I could get a sub that hits hard naturally and I'd be good. So what do you guys think with more info?

Yeah I have only heard a 10" TDX it was pretty nice. I would bet the D6 line is pretty good too. But the D1 got some bad reviews in Car Audio magazine. Each sub is different though a manufacturer can make some great subs and some not so great.

How good are the Diamond Audio ones, they look fine. The IDQ's got good reviews about SQ but some said some wierd things like they were too slow and they missed frequencies. I think i might just get a type R. Are kickers really not good?

i'd advise TWO infinity referance 12's, the new version... i'd equate them to almost as loud as a 15"sx with a lot better sq PORTED... they get crazy loud with a lot of power and handle it very well, i'm pushing mine with 1200@1ohm, but oviously doesn't get that much power all the time
