Hard water stains

Having lived in Florida, where the water is basically liquid limestone, I get hard water stains on my car that refuse to come off, even with a clay bar and wax. What's the best way to get rid of them?

compound and a buffer.

use a chrome wheel cleaner, not one for all finishes but chrome wheels. spray it on lightly to small areas and rub it quickly and rinse off

eagle1 makes a wadding in a small can that works great for it, it is meant for chrome, but works great.
