lol, ever taken a course on Assembly? Talk about workarounds....
i tried assembly once, just making a couple simple programs. it's all right to work with for what it's made for, doing simple math stuff, but it doesn't apply to many real world situations nowadays with the higher level languages becoming wide spread.

i personally have found myself leaning away from desktop-oriented programming (C++, Java, etc.) and have a new liking for PHP. oh, PHP....

That's not true. It may take longer to develop but there's one advantage it always has over high level languages and that's speed, speed, speed. A properly developed Assembly program can run much faster than any C++ or Java program.
