Grounding to the frame

If its possible, would it be best to drill straight through the cab, (through the floor) and anchor bolt my ground wire to the frame? I wouldn't worry about it if it wasn't a possibility. Its close enough to my distribution block, and amps, that total, from the spot id ground it, to the dis block, and then out to the amps, my ground wires, from amp, to frame, would be under 3 feet.

thanks

Just curious. Right now, my ground is bolted to metal, under the cab frame. I just took a dremel and cut a little square, to show the harder metal underneath, then cleaned it up, and anchor bolted it to the floor. And it sounds fine, its just i don't have alot of experience in what sounds amazing vs just good sound.

thanks

You don't need to ground to the frame. Any metal panel is bolted to the frame. Just make sure you sand off any paint or finish between your ground wire and ground point.

And for the record...any metal is not a good ground...more so important on vehicles that utilize a uni-body construction process....if metal you are grounding to is only held together with a few spot welds in may not be a good ground.... on anything that is frame on body construction you can more or less pick a spot...but the frame will always be the best ground...

yeah the metal its grounded to now sounds fine (to me, but I may be wrong) but the frame is available and i didn'tk now how that would work out.

if i run a second battery, could i run the main ground wire (that leads to the dist. block, and then to the amps) to the second battery, (that will be pretty close, and just ground that battery to the frame/ metal?
