Grounded RCA's, now amps are always on?

I have the ground loop/pico fuse crap with my pioneer unit.

Went to ground my RCA's today, got it all done just like how it is in sethphillips guide.

I went to put the ground terminals back on my batteries (starting at the rear batteries). When i screwed in the ground terminal on the first battery, the terminal sparked a bit. After i got it tightened up, i noticed my amps were on.... with the other rear battery not grounded, and with the batery under my hood not grounded.

any ideas?

I am thinking through how this could be possible, give me a few minutes to think it through. Didn't want you to keep bumping in the meantime.

EDIT: The only thing I can think of is that you must have somehow connected your REM wire to a power source somewhere. I cannot imagine the RCAs being grounded as the source of your problem. It just does not make sense. Something else must have been changed.

im mindboggled right now.

1) whenever a battery terminal touched a battery (if the amp was wired to that batter), the amp would turn on

2) pulled the deck out, went nutso with the DMM checking for voltage on the remote wires, double checked and redouble check everything, everything is right

3) unplugged the RCA's, slapped a battery terminal on, and the amp comes on

4) disconnected the remote wire, amp comes on

5) sat around and pondered, then eventually hooked up the FRONT battery first to make sure my deck wasnt ****ed, and headunit turns on. So, i hook up the back batteries, and the amps stay off, like normal. Then, i reattach the remote wire, and everything works normal.......

I guess it works now.

oh, and at one point, the remote wire read 2.3 volts...... i mean, i have a cheapo DMM so that could have been wrong. Then, i took at reading at the amp, and the rem put out 9.6 volts.

This was before everything started working fine.

i still think i should get the amp.

I may want to keep it out, but last year i went through something like 4 different stereos. This ones been in m y truck for a long time now.
