when looking at grills, you have to take into consideration that the surround may hit the grill when firing... and you may realize that, that isnt good.

I would think that a grill for a 12" would fit a 12" IDMAX. Mattj is right though, I have heard that horrid sound more than I care to share. You could always try to shim it away from the sub to prevent it.
