Great, looks like a hurricane is coming.

Although it is a tropical storm right now it is supposed to turn into Hurricane Charley and hit directly on the coast where I live. This means 3 hours of helping my family board of the house and 3 hrs of taking it down, tons of time cleaning up the yard, and finally getting my apartment moved around so that broken glass or water won't ruin my tv or computers. It isn't the wind the sucks but were going to have bad flooding because we're below sea level. So yippee!

ps. post pictures. =) and make a MDF box for your car (unless you have a garage, with little floaties and an ankor so it floats with the flood. dont wanna ruin your car =P

You think you get it bad ? Atleast you guys have some where to go in an emergency if u have to lol, that sucks tho i know how u feel man.

I've been in 3 hurricanes...2 while at the beach. I love em...but I didn't have to do any of the boarding up or cleaning up., and it wasn't my house (hotel).

I live in the Fort Myers/Naples area, about an hour south of Tampa. Their projecting the eye to cross in between here and Tampa around Punta Gorda. The hurricane itself isn't that big of a deal and we probably could go windsurfing sometime around the hurricane (max gusts are going to be around 90 m.p.h) But the flooding and damage from vegetation will be severe. My brother and step-father live on Sanibel Island and if winds reach 40 m.p.h. they close the only bridge and probably the whole island will be under water. It's a good chance that a huge portion of our county could be effected by the storm surge. I'll take pics if anything interesting happens.

Were starting to get hit now, I'm on the 2nd floor so I don't have to worry about flooding. It's probably going to be a direct hit about 30 miles away from where I live. The hurricane is officially a category 2 but all the weather people say its really a 3 and will have gusts up to almost 150 m.p.h. I'll try to take some pics if it's not too bad.
