I thought this movie was Clints answer to Spike Lee, who criticized Clint for not having any black actors in his Iwo Jima epic. Clint told him to STFU and go make his own movie about WWII. Spike did (Miracle at St. Michelle?) it was okay, not great.

So Clint did a whole movie about race, politically correct bullshit and stereotypes.

Some of the young actors were awful, at times, but overall a very good movie.

I love that he used a Garand. You can still have a real USGI issue Garand mailed directly to your house from the CMP.
