Government Welfare Programs Out of Control

I know that the economy was horrible before Obama joined the office, but he did add trillions more to the deficit.

Let me say this.......if I had you come to work for me, and the last guy that worked here left you a million dollars in the hole starting out with, and no way of making money because everyone used to buy our products wanted it cheaper so they went to the offshore guys.......do you think you would add to my current debt or bring it down? Especially considering closing up shop isn't an option.

There are things Obama could have done that would help, not fix, but help this economy. But he didn't do that. I'm not saying this economy can be fixed in a 4 year or even an 8 year term.

I wonder why everyone thinks Obama did this to the country.....
Pretty sure it has been going down the shitter for a lot longer than he has been around. And doesn't the senate make decisions? Isn't the senate made up of both sides....democrats and republicans? Obama is just a figurehead.....he doesn't get to make any decisions on his own.

Everyone just wants someone to be mad at. Heck it could have been Hilary Clinton. If Romney ins and everything keep on it's current path, is everyone going to blame him....? Yup....

People need to take responsibility for their own successes or poverty. Social assistance is that....assistance. Not a full time job.

Personally I think if you are on welfare for more than 6 months you should automatically be recruited into the military. It gives you a stable job, training to be someone, a sense of discipline, maybe even some motivation.

Or...even better yet is to have to pizz test to get your welfare cheque. And have to do community service. I mean after all.....the community is paying you to be on welfare, the least you can do is work for the community.

...and when u r done, u just kill yourself...WTF is up with that?? I read the other day from various sources that there have been more soldiers killed from ******* than fighting in combat, or anything else in 2012. Is it something in the freakin MRE's, or what?

His hands are pretty tied. He can't just say whats going to happen and have it done. He can bring it to the table, but after that it is the senate you voted in that makes the decisions. Pretty bad actually.....who needs a president when the senate makes the decisions.

I think it is more to do with the pussification of the American person. You never used to hear about post traumatic stress, or half the psychological ailments people have now. Before it was called grief, or stress, and it was when there was a major catastrophe. Now people do not see death often like they did 50-100 years ago. It is not a part of peoples everyday lives. So when they see it, or have it happen to someone they know....they don't know how to deal with it.

Also, the Senate is controlled by the Democrats anyway. The House is controlled by the Republicans right now.

Yea..I guess I can see that point, to a small degree. Things are not like Vietnam or WW2 where there were 10's of 1000's of soldiers in uniforms fighting each other in literal blood baths on battlefields. Where the enemy had comparable firepower and designation between enemy soldiers and civilians were a much clearer line. We are not even fighting standing armies anymore, we are fighting cultures and everyday people trying to improvise with what they can and keep what they have. We occupy Afghanistan, for crying out loud...a country whose primary source of income is the Drug Trade...and then Iraq, where the primary source of trade is Oil. We are fighting and killing people in these countries who do not have access to a single airplane or a single tank to even try to fight back with. When was the last time our boys saw a fair fight?..or fought for something worth fighting for, besides drugs and oil?
