Gotta write a report on an OS

For my CSI class I have to write a report on any OS of my liking. I don't want to do the usual windows or Linux stuff. What are some no so well known OS's that still have a decent amount of info online? I found tons, but figured I would see if anyone had some favorite OS's.

OpenSolaris or one of the bsd's. Freebsd/netbsd or openbsd. openbsd is an extremely secure operating system, perhaps that would be a likely candidate? OpenSolaris would be my next pick, due to the new zfs filesystem included with it.

There's more operating systems than Linux, Windows, and Mac?
Well, LINUX is basically a category where there falls a lot of other operating systems.

Linux isn't an O/S like Mac's OS is, or Windows. There's many distributions of LINUX, and each one is different.

Ubuntu is pretty good IMO.

Yeah I was looking at Solaris, I'll check out openbsd. Thanks

Hell, if you want to go for a slam dunk, write about AmigaOS as an OS and then write about its impact on BBS's in the mid to late 80's. If that doesn't get you mad extra credit, nothing will. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I was gonna say damm near the same thing.

BEoS would certainly get you some geek cred. AmigaOS also for some oldschool leetness is another option. Most people under 20 have probably never even heard of those two....
I'm 21 and barely know much about either one.

I have a Operating Systems class this semester, when I get home I'll take a pic of the list of OS's in there, maybe that will help?
