They sounded pretty descent but not smooth.</p><p></p><p>I am now running a U.S. Amps Xterminator 800.4 active to the same components. WOW! I will never have a passive setup ever again in my life. For those of you on the fence about going active....do it yesterday.</p><p></p><p>I expected to hear a difference between the two amps (power wise) but I dont at all...if anything the new amp is louder, with less power.</p><p></p><p>On the first day of tuning I blew my DLS tweets //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif :verymad:</p><p></p><p>It was a dumb mistake....started cranking before remembering to adjust high crossover points. They did not give any hint of stress or clipping, just popped. I was stressing like mad at first. Those things are $300 shipped! them I remembered that I had my JL Xr comps laying around still so I stole the tweeters out of that set and hooked the driver's side up. ****. Sounded like shit compared to the DLS. Oh well I will have to live with it.....WAIT! I have some Tang Bands laying around too! Twenty minutes later I am listening to the best my car has ever sounded....ever. Perfect amps imo. I don't know for sure what my 4000D is actually putting out but it moves my Avalanche verry nicely. I want to get it metered after I get done tuning just to see what a SQL setup will do. Next box will be a hair bit smaller and tuned lower, probably 27hz.</p><p></p><p>So BIG thumbsup for Clarion, US, Tangband....and most of all Going Active!</p></blockquote><p></p>
