I just got the Infinity 9603i and instaleld them in my car.

I was told they can handle 100w rms, but only push 60 rms by themselves. So, I was wondering, what kind if amp should i get to power them? I was thinking it shouldnt be more than 50 bucks for 40 watts of rms power, but i could be wrong.....

my real question is what KIND of amp should i be looking for, not really brand.

I'm just super confused right now, up until a few days ago, I never even knew you could amp 6x9's.....

Help me out with what I need to know before I buy this amp

Thanx

I would get a 100WRMS amp, 'cause they won't power themselves. So you'll need that full 100WRMS to get them to their full potential. You could go the cheap route for an amp, of lower quality, and get this amp. Or you could go a little more and get this amp which will put out about 90WRMS.

how would i even do the installation?

is it simple or would u recommend going to a car audio shop?

i was lookin for something less than 100 though. not audiobahn and not anything as expensive as that rockford....

thanx

You could get this amp. It puts out just a little more than what you need, so if you're careful with the gains, you should be fine. It'll also be a little over $100 shipped. Even cheaper than that (about $80 shipped.) you should get this amp. It's a little underrated, but would power the speakers nicely. Amplifier installation is pretty easy, as long as you know what to do. Since you're on a budget, I wouldn't advice going to a install shop. You would need an 8 gauge amp kit. If you have an after market head unit, then just the amp kit would do fine. If you don't have an after market unit, you'll need LOC (Line out converter). Run the battery wire through the firewall. Find a nice ground as close to the amp as possible, and make sure your grounding spot has a nice clean surface (no paint or anything, just bare metal.) Run either the RCA's from the headunit back to the amp, or hook up the LOC and run the RCA's from it, to the amp.
