im looking into a good pair of headphones. over the ear no buds. i have some bose in ear headphones right now but theres just something bout over the ear. and i really don't want to buy some beats. so anybody know any other good brands that are pretty good? they need to have good bass of course. thanks.

I'm hoping to stay around if not under 200. and these would be used to hook up to my mac for music editing on programs like logic pro as much as just listening to music on my mac and iPod. and it would be nice if they trap noise quite a bit. its not fun when ur listen to music and the rest of the ppl in the room can hear the words perfectly when its only half volume.

Just buy some more apple ear buds to go with your Apple nuthuggery.... I kid I kid, just hating on Apple.

If you're looking for good headphones, look elsewhere from Bose and Beats though. Those are just over-priced names. I constantly hear people recommending sennheiser, excellent quality and price.

personally I would choose some bose ones. Beats are overrated, the only thing they do is look cool, and thats about the only thing they are good at. Not that they are bad, but I have heard 3 different over the ear models and they never impressed me. I have never used them, but I think pioneer makes a decent over the ear. Either way someone will probably post a insulting comment saying that its the worst possible thing.

Since you will be using an iPod you want to look for something with high sensitivity and low impedance. Those 2 things are directly related to how well a set of headphones can be pushed by a low voltage source.

When I was looking my budget was $140. I got the Shure SRH750DJ's for $110 from an authorized dealer BNIB. I listen to them at almost full volume and my wife cant hear them right next to me. They have a detachable cord, they are comfortable, and they sound great. Others I was considering were the Sennheiser HD555's (same driver as the 595's), Shure SRH840's, AKG 240 Studios, and the Sony MDR ZX700.

Head over to Head-Fi.org and do some research. They have loads of reviews.

The v moda crossfade lp's can be found under 100 and the lp2's can be found under 200. I am slowly getting into djing and make many of my own remixes and I would highly recommend these. The build quality is crazy for the price unlike your beats (**** honestly) that are all plastic and cost a fortune you can get quality headphones for your buck that will out beat almost anything in the >200 dollar range.

i tried a pair of my friends beats and honestly i think my buds can handle more bass lol. the noise canceling ones form bose are a little bit too expensive for me lol. ill look into some of the brands mentioned.
