Good SPL car or no.. Need some opinions

96 talon..

A friend of mine just built up his "project car" and wants to sell me his black 96 tsi (auto) for 1500 plus a memphis mc-1000d and my sx12 .. It seems .like a good deal to me .. it has like 100k miles but still runs good , and since im not looking for a fast car, just something with a hatch i was wondering if these do well as far as an spl vehicle? A few hatchback ive heard w nice setups were not that loud to me ( a few civic dx's i believe and a few others that i cant remember) .. Any feedback would be cool , thanks

Meaning does it slope down , as opposed to a bubble back like a golf, or civic hatch?

i dont burp but i broke a 52 with jsut 2 10's messing aroudn with my street beat box. i compete in usaci street beat 1 its 30 second avg spl on music. they are very loud cars

i hear you on that.. the only thing ive every heard in a talon is a 12w7 off a 500/1.. Sounded louder than most w7s ive heard but i just wanted a few more opinions .. I wont be competing much with mine either , it'll be a loud daily street beater and maybe 5-6 shows / season.. Daily box somewhere around 28-30 hz tuning

How bout the $$/trade deal? I dont know too much about the talons/ motors etc so at 100k on a tsi auto , am i looking at any problems? Obviously no way to tell for sure but i dont wanna spend 2grand on something that wont even get me to a show if i wannna go

crx style? you know from testing different boxes / positions or is that what you ve always used

I would do it, and they are great cars for bass. Buy some SQL subs, RL-P's or something.

no no...iknow in the back of integra's (thats what I meant) they bow in in the back when your looking into the hatch...if it didnt, it would allow SOOOO much more space

they'll be 2 12w7s daily.. and im thinkin about 2 apx 12s and a IA 40.1 for shows.. I just want to try the apx out.. i think i have a good price on them from george at atomic and it'll be something different that noone has up here
