Im thinken about goin to college in mobile technology installing tv's navigation systems, speakers amps etc..

so like do the certified guys at best buy make bank or installers at audio shops?

just graduated a few months ago, loved every minute of it, i actually couldn't find any install jobs in my area though except for future shop or best buy which i really dont want to get into, so i ended up in sales in a higher end audio shop in which we carry a full line of JL Audio, Alpine, a bit of pioneer premier, a few JVC decks and Focal, and a couple audison amps on hand still

but that was at like 50 hours a week and install work gets old quickly..

I don't know who you've been talking to. Best buy installers make upto 20bucks an hour, and I make usually 13an hour with bonus. Most the stuff they teach you can be learned with first hand experience/being trained by other installers.

Think about it before you do anything... is it really what you want to do for the rest of your life?

It's fun now, but when your 40 are you still gonna wanna be crawling around cars or putting in remote starts?

And if you say "I want to open my own shop", then i would say goto college and get a degree in business management/entrenuership.

i went to mobile dynamics in canada im now mecp siver certified. i found a job the minute i got back to milwaukee. i work for a company called navagaion solutions. i am stationed at a hertz rent a car lot and install navaigation systems, sirius radios, and tracking devices for rent a cars. started me off at 13.50 an hour full benfits package and i work 40 hours a week. i got to take a trip this summer to LA and work out there for a week. my company paid for my food flight and hotel as well as a rental if i was of age. ive been working here for almost a year now and this job is so awesome.

well ask yourself first.. do you want to be bloody rich or have a job you will look forward too each morning? having both is hard
