Good Portable AC for Room???

Well summer coming up and my room gets hot as shit, I can't turn ac on because my house is huge and electricity bill just sky rockets. So what are some good room AC's somthing portable not one for the window or nothing. I think I've tried about every fan thats suppose to cool your room but I mean they all do the same shit just blow hot air around lol.. So maybe I need one that takes water or I dont know what you guys recommend?

i have on of those portable air conditioners that use water the problem with those is that it makes the room really humid because of the water.

point the fan out the window. works better that way otherwise you can get a window type unit that will mount threw the wall. if you get even a portable unit it need to have a vent going outside for the condenser air. mini splits are real nice and then you only have to drill for the lineset and drain. They are little and eve made to look like paintings.

Yeah it works pretty well. This one has settings for humidifier and you can turn it off. Only if you use it, do you have to empty the water. I'm not 100% sure on that though. My dad set it up on Sunday, but then it cooled off yesterday and today so we haven't really messed with it...

Any air conditioner worth its weight will have a hose to exhaust the hot air through a window. Those recirculating air units are garbage - don't waste your money.

Stay away from Danby. I bought one and it was garbage. Check out what Sears has to offer - prices are fairly decent.

why not just seal vents and close doors in rooms you dont want to cool instead of paying $400 for an AC unit?

it will take you years to recoup the initial cost
