Good PC Games (FPS + MMO)

I just purchased a gaming computer and have yet to decide which game(s) to play. I used to play PC games but moved to consoles so I'm out of the loop.

FPS:

-Looking for a good clan based game. Something in which clan wars and ladders are used and active. I had played a couple Tom Clancy games like Rainbow Six (original and Rogue Spear) and also CS. Games similar to these would be nice.

Couple that came to mind were Crysis and Left 4 Dead.

MMORPG:

-PvP Oriented

-Not spending hours grinding in dungeons to gain levels

-Very large, active community (dont want a dead game).

Couple that came to mind were Age of Conan, Darkfall, and Warhammer.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Yes... why couldn't they? lol
well doom3 had graphic capabilities that even the best computers couldnt run yet, so crysis might have done the same thing when they made the game so that comptuers down the line would be able to run it in advanced graphics

Download xfire and add gggunit I play every night.

I play cod4, cod5, L4D and CS:S, they are the most popular games to this date IMO.

L4D versus is very fun, we mop up the noobs on a daily basis.

COD4 has the best gameplay and is a very good true shooter.

I prefer doing small 6v6 TDM/DOM HC scrims instead of the nade fest 32/48 man noob public servers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Here's the setup I play on, and how the games perform...

L4D 1600x1200 highest settings 8xAA 16xAF 500fps

Crysis 1600x1200 custom config highest settings 2xAA 8xAF 60fps

COD4 1360x768 (so i can get 170hz on my CRT) 4xAA 8xAF highest settings / no shadows 500fps

Crysis is a very difficult thing to play on full setting. I still do not believe there is a storebought computer that can run it at max settings. It takes a fairly hardcore custom gaming PC to do so.

I've got this sweet config utility that will make about 50 custom changes to your config file that gives you amazing eyecandy and keeps your fps at a very playable level. When I used default highest settings I was in the 30-45's, but when I ran the program that changed my config after selecting my hardware I gained about 15 fps. Now I can play in the online servers with full eyecandy on without any lag casuing me to not perform as well. I will send you the config when I get home after work.

If you torrent L4D you can instal it with a legit key purchased from this site for only $17...

make sure to change curreny to USD.

Do you prefer Crysis or L4D?

Stay away from Age of conan its pretty dead and no where near as good as warhammer online. Also the pvp is AOC is crap. I suggest warhammer. send me a pm if you want a refferal for a trial
