my freind wants to sell me his mtx 895 thunder amp for 140$. i would be using it to power my 4 speakers. can i get 100W to each speaker with this amp? thanks

No offense, but you've been here since 2005 and you have no idea how to figure how much amplifier power a speaker will see, even when shown the specs right in front of you?

lol that is true. Not a real big feat to figure out. You can always do a search on the net and get the specs that way too. Pretty easy and you dont have people flamin you when you ask a silly easy question!

Realistically it's 35 x 4 and 70 x 4, depending how u wire them up.

Actually read the ratings and they will give you all the information you could want on that amp ~

Read that to mean if you feed it in 12.5v DC current it will do the following:

@ 4 Ohms ~

35w X 4 + 160w X 1 on the sub channel

@ 2 Ohms ~

70w X 4 + 320w X 1 on the sub channel

If you up the input voltage to 14.4v DC current it will do the following:

@ 4 Ohms ~

50w X 4 + 245w X 1 on the sub channel

@ 2 Ohms ~

100w X 4 + 490w X 1 on the sub channel

If it works 100% shoot yeah it's worth what your friend is asking.
