Going sealed, am I really going to miss that much?

Well, it seems I'm not going to be able to fit both subs inside of my trunk in their appropriate ported dimensions. I can JUST barely squeeze the sealed box inside.

Think its worth going through all the effort to make a custom box shaped to my trunk just so I can run my subs ported? I've never heard em ported so I'm not entirely sure.

Oh, two 13 w6v2's, 500 watts to each.

If you have never heard them ported you won't miss anything. But if you have...you would be missing a lot. I just made the move from sealed to ported and it was a world of difference and I am never going back.

Yeah I keep hearing that a ported box is significantly louder. Argh this is frustrating.

What are your max dimensions, and what size box do you need for the pair? and tuning?

Well, I was building the boxes to JL's specs. I know I could most likely make em work if I deviated from JL's cube box design they have, but not only would it take a lot of work to make my own dimensions and whatnot, but I already have all of the wood cut hah for this one.

Its saying 1.875 cuft tuned to 34.5. I'll have to go measure trunk to get more accurate, but its a 2000 Pontiac Grand AM.

Oh and they say for two, just double the vol and ports, but I was making two separate boxes for each, so I could have one on each side of the car trunk.

I got my W7 ported. Never heard it sealed but I like the ported sound. Gotta get ported!! Slaps so hard.. Loud without distortion!!

Those w6s will sound amazing sealed. 2 13s sealed should be plenty loud.

Yeah they are def loud. Just wanted to hear em ported. Meh I may just say the hell with it and keep em sealed.

If they are loud sealed, I would leave it like that. They are going to have better SQ in a sealed box. That has been my approach to things. I'm not too worried about going stupid loud, as long as it sounds crisp.

If you already have the wood cut for sealed, then build it... Then if you don't like the output, start designing plans to fit a ported box.
