What a splendid idea. Sell off their fleet brand (GMC) All the fleet trucks General Motors makes are GMC. There is no need to kill off Buick. They most likely use the same platform as the Chevrolet models, and roll off the same line so it really costs the company little to make that brand, and offers the customers more selection, like Ford-Lincoln-Mercury.

The impact of GM going out of business is greater than what people seem to think. On the news today, a local company that made safety glasses, had to cut their workforce just because they are selling thousands less glasses because GM has idled or closed their plants. The thing is, GM and Ford both make quality cars that can compete with the Asians. The problem is shaking this mindset that people have. Chrysler on the other hand, has poor reliability ratings and not much in terms of refinement and new product.
