General rule of 12-18" of port area for slot, but would 8.5" be ok for aero ports?

Going to be building a wall and my box is 18.5 cubic feet and really just having a hard time having any place on the baffle to put my ports. I am thinking of doing two 10" tubes which will me 157" of port area. I think I heard someone say 8-12 is ok for aero ports but want to make sure. I originally planned on doing 4 8" tubes but can't fit them on the baffle and the same with two 12"s.
