I just drive a little less as the price increases... buying gas about every 10 days now @ 45-48 dollars per instead of every 5 days at a lesser price. its an imported product. gas prices are also higher cause our dollar dropped in value.

i mean honestly think of it like this. thats like us starting a thread going, the price of lamborghinis is outrageous!!! how are we going to lower it.

well pay what they say well pay. easiest way to drop the price of a product is stop buying it.

The site we do security at pays my company $15.89 per hour for a guard to be posted there but the guard only see's $7.25

Then hows does your company make any type of real profit?

15.89- 7.25= 8.64/hr. left over.

Company has to pay things like insurance, taxes workmans comp, etc... And then I'm sure the owners want to see some kind of return.

My company charges $89/hr. per man for the first 45min, then it's prorated in 15min. increments. And us as employees are only seeing in the twenties.

We have no insurance. This is only my site. I have heard of other sites charging $45 per hour and paying out only $8.00 per hour

Sorry to prove you wrong but we are paying more now then during the 1970's oil crisis. With inflation they would have been paying $3.50 per gallon in todays time so We have now passed that mark.

Have you considered the value of todays dollar? It dropped a significant amount in the last couple years....

Its a bit outdated, but it should give you some perspective on how the crisis in the 70s compares...

You seemed to miss my entire point though, like many other Americans. If you don't like the oil prices then DON'T use as much! What a novel idea, demand decreased in the 70s, why are Americans so hard headed that they can't do it now???

I recently started taking the bus to college, it saves me around 40 dollars a month in gas...

I'm telling you what needs to be done. we take about 3 CEO's of oil companies. Hang them out front of the White House. With their blood we write a message on their lifeless bodies. Smear honey on the bottom part of the body so by morning the ants would have started their fest. If that doesn't work, go after their families. Start chopping the wifes toes and fingers off while they watch. They are hurting our families so why not theirs?

Or we could have a nation wide riot. The 70's did it, why can't we. This is BS. Something needs to be done.

Why should they be strung up for selling something at a price people still pay? If you were in business wouldn't you set your products price in respect to demand?
