I'm looking to get a new grill. So far everything from wal-mart I have bought before has been CRAP!! not really a big surprise, but I have finally decided to get something of quality to last. So far from reviews I have seen Weber seems to make a good unit, but I'm not sure where to get one. Does anyone have other suggestions???

And yes, I know charcoal/wood is better, but I am an impatient person, that likes to eat when I'm hungry and not wait for the coals to be ready to cook.

These always remind me of a barbeque grill.........

But on topic, stainless is the way to go.

Under $500 make probably doesnt make much difference if it does everything you want.

Being from a big BBQ city of KC, I am surprised you are looking for a grill. I would have imagined that you would be in need of a good smoker.

May I suggest a little sumtin sumtin:

Pellet fed smoker capable of smoking your food to perfection at 200 degrees or grilling at over 450 degrees. This thing is a perfect addition to your back yard getup. With an abundance of pellets, you will be sure to find a combo that is pleasing to the palette.

I have a stainless Kenmore from Sears and its awsome. It has 3 burners, automatic ignitor (9v batt), I stovetop burner on the right side, with a swivel mount griddle, on the left side it has an LED light with mercury switch so when its picked up, it automatically comes on. It has a condements (sp?) holder on the side, and 2 shelves on the bottom with stainless cabinet doors. I paid liek $350 for it about a year ago. Its by far the best grille I have ever owned.

I have a Vermont Castings and am very satisfied.

It is only 3 years old but looks new. I bought it over the Weber, also a very good grill, because of the weight of the cooking surface...very heavy cast iron with a very thick porcelian coating compared to the others including the Webers. The lid is also much heaview meaning little heat escapes and the inside cooking temperature is more consistent and even.

I have the base model so no side burner but it is not a big deal to me. It also does not have any condiment holders or shelves, etc. but I did not spend $400 for a condiment holder but a **** good grill.

Good luck with your search and purchase.

I had a sunbeam junker for 15 years passed down from my dad when he bought the uberQ grill with 30 burners, 50,000,000 btu blah blah.

Last week I bought a charbroil for $149.99 from home depot. It is all powdercoated black with a side burner as I did not want stainless even though this has a stainless cosmetic front. Grill is freaking nice so far! Love it. The cooking surface is HEAVY porcelain cast iron grates, very nice and cookes very very even. Only thing I am not a fan of, is it does not allow for the use of ceramic or other bricks in the bottom which is better for even heat even though this is doing the job very very well without them. Cooked a few t-bones, burgers and dogs on it and for the money, could not recommend it higher.

One other complaint, it came with an electronic ignition... Well guess it is not a complaint but worried about how it will last "more how the battery will last" in 110+ az heat. I like the old school push button systems or just one of those long lighters.

It also is at 4/5 out of 7 reviews. One nerd gave it a 3/5 because it took him a long time to put it together *LOL* ***. Anyways took me about an hour or so with an electronic screwdriver. Everything is bolted together which is very nice. No half *** screw into sheet metal stuff.

well I pussed out, couldn't find the weber I was looking for. Ended up getting a kenmore for $389 seems pretty nice, I put it together tonight. Just not sure how long it will last. But since I paid $200 less than the weber, I figure I can live with the shortened life.
