Last time I looked into the highend gaming systrems Alienware was one of the top companies. I had good luck with them and I know they are still pretty good but is there anyother new compaines that I should be looking into also to compare prices with?

Basically what are the top gaming computer companies out there. Oh, I dont want to build my own either.

After doing a long and extensive research I tried FalconNorthwest

I found them to be the best of the bunch

2 years later the PC is still flawless and I reccomend them over all others

Build j00r own, n00bx ...
Falcon Northwest definitely deserves mention, as well as another company I can't recall the name of ... Dell XPS systems are generally good for gaming, although some systems are severely overpriced/overkill (i.e. the Quad SLI machine) ...

If i knew how to build my own I would......I am sure you can build a great system for less if you DIY it....

yeah I remember reading somewhere that they now have quad SLI, it's like 4k isn't it? Or maybe that was "suggested" price ya know? Still I bet it's crazy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Honestly its not worth my time to build a new computer id rater spend 1-2k more and have it built for me rather than spending days messing around trying to build one.

I also found a company named Cyber Power, they seem pretty good. Anyone know anyting about them???

if you are dead set on buying one built already I'd really just stick with falcon northwest or alienware. Friend had an alienware computer built with dual core procs, sli, the works and its pretty mean. He also paid a left nut for it but hey it's nice.

I personally like to build my own setup but to each his own.

yea i put my computer together in about 2 hours running intel pentium D clocked at 3.85ghz, no SLI, tv tuner, and even setup xp media center with it, in about 3hrs

fast as all get out, now the graphics card is holding it back nvidia 256mb 6800gs OC'd

dude... you can throw a computer together in 2 hours tops.
its so amazingly easy i'm suprised that people still pay other people a premium to do it...
yup..... alienware is nice.. but only because they have pretty cases.. and that's about it. they'll spend about 2 thousand on parts put it in a pretty case with a matching keyboard and mouse and sell it for 3 thousand maybe even more.. you really think that's worth paying for?? dude, you can send all parts via newegg shipping to my house and ill put it together for you and send it to you just pay for your parts and shipping and give me 300 dollars man i wont do you dirty and steal your shit.. youll have a system just as good as an alienware and for one thousand dollars cheaper no joke... if you dont trust me, then at least find someone local that knows how to do it and pay them.. youd be doing yourself a BIG favor and saving a lot of money to blow on a huge amp or something......... hmm maybe i should consider building systems professionally and top alienware's prices //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

edit: ill even take a vial of Liquid instead of 300 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

yea i put my comuter together too in like 2 hours... not even two hours. like 1.5 to hook up a Raptor, DVD burner, A64 3500+, G-card, mobo, RAM and everything else....in a SSF cas too! all you gotta do is plug and screw

i just put one together for my bro and it only took a half an hour to put inthe mobo, g-card and ram, and plug the Front lights and usb things up

i meant 3 bills paid to me for building his computer since he said he was willing to pay an extra thousand to have it pre-built.. i said for him to pay for the parts and ship them to my house and ill put it together for a fee of 300 dollars.. but if you still wanna know where i prefer to get my parts from i live in san diego and i would go to computer depot in clairemont for parts.. their prices are the best i can find in SD.. theyre a warehouse

If you don't want to build your own then just go to CompUSA and get something like this :

http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=337491&pfp=browse&tabtype=ts#moreinfo

or

http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?pfp=BROWSE&product_code=337486&Pn=Pavilion_a1430n_Minitower

Coupled with a card like this:

http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?pfp=BROWSE&product_code=337091&Pn=GeForce_7800_GS_OC_Video_Card

Here is the LCD that I have: Good Brightness and no ghosting...

http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?pfp=cat3&product_code=318450&Pn=SyncMaster_930b_19_inch_LCD_Monitor

You can updgrade the sound card and will need a new Power Supply as well (+150 ish...) + Install & 2 year warranty ($100 ish.)

You're looking at under 2k out the door with either package... If you go with Alienware it probably would be around 3k for a comparable system.. CompUSA will install the drivers and optimize the performance as well plus their service plan will have them fix it in their store.

Of course I would just build it myself... If you have some free time it would definately be a good experience to build your first computer + getting to handpick the mobo, CPU, and VPU is much better.
