G35 vs 350Z

Right, and on top of that you have that many more maintenance problems, worse driving dynamics, poor fuel economy, two less seats, half the build quality, no warranty, etc. etc.
Beat it n00b
same could be said if you chip a 335. They already have overheating problems but Im sure theyll fix that as BMW service is top notch. I think the 335 is a hell of a car but putting it in the same sentence with the 350 its like apples and honeydew.

have you ever driven a 350 though? First gear is useless so lets not talk about torque. You can be in 5th going 60, mash it and it still pulls hard. The interior/plastics dont come close to those in a BMW but I would say theyre better than a vette. Driving dynamics felt perfect to me but that was a track edition z that i drove.

several people say that the base feels faster than the track/enthusiast/etc version because of the engine tuning. those models with the added hp sacrifice some of the down low torque curve.

how do you consider first gear to be useless though? i can use mine, you just get a fair bit of wheel spin if you launch close to or over 2k rpm.

on a side note, i took down a db9 from a roll last night in my Z //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif . had it bogged in second gear a little bit when he dumped on the throttle. im pretty sure the guy just sucked at driving though, seeing as he should have been slightly faster than me.

the only one ive driven was a track so even that you couldnt really get on it in first, so it comes down to the driver. but its probably an advantage on the highway? plus cant deny the suspension

what did it get up to? whats the top speed outta 2nd gear? sweet

The thing about chipping the 335 is that you still retain the warranty (as far as i know there are people who have returned the ECU to stock when they took it in for service and had no problems)... can't do that with the 350.

the 335 vs. the 350 is a funny comparison, apples and oranges. But i believe that the 335 is better on the track and off.

The torque is very useful //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

And i dont doubt for a bit that the 350z interior is better than the Vettes.

ahem im sorry but if you want a sports car then only 2 seats and no cargo room shouldnt be a concern. Mediocre power? show me something better from a 6. The 335 needs a biturbo to make decent power, a 350 with 10lbs would smoke it silly. The 1 series, are you kidding me? 30k starting price? maybe when they were first released. You could get a 350 for less than an audi a3
Something better from a 6? A sports car has to have a 6 now? As far as the motor in the Z goes, it's an awesome engine, but the power is poorly placed in the power band. They roast tires, and by the time they grab their curves or on the down side. At freeway speeds, you can't get low enough in the rpms to pull some real power out of the VQ. I've got track experience in the 350, and quite a bit of it. I love the car, but it doesn't have the top end balls it should.

hahaha i love the namecalling 350z=best bang for the buck, drop 10 grand in it and youre still in for less than a 335, which is not much cheaper than the last gen M anyway so beat it nerd
10 grand won't take you very far with a Z. I can spend 10k on my car, right now, and have 430hp/380tq to the wheels (stock is 220hp/200tq), a track-worthy suspension, with enough change left for a new head unit. I smoke Zs now, and I have exhaust and a few bolt ons. And I MAY have spent $1000 in mods on my car.
