i asked in another thread but this section gets alot more traffic.

planning on getting a pair of the new pioneer ts-d 6.75"s. i may end up amping them with a RF 120a2 (if my 350s ever sells) which is rated for a 15amp fuse. i have a mini anl distro block and the smallest fuse i can find is a 30a. would i be ok fusing it with that or should i add an inline with a 15a? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

and has anyone ran the ts-d series with around 30wrms?

I don't see a problem with using a 30A fuse in the block as long as the wires that are protected by that fuse are rated for 30A and above. The fuse that plugs into your amp should remain as specified by the manufacturer.

there is no fuse in the amp, external only. thats the problem. i will be using 8g or 10g wire less than 2ft long.

any more input?

it the amp calls for a 15a fuse, then that whats you should use. You can get an inline fuse holder and 15a atc fuse.

Not many car audio amps out there with no internal fusing, especially these days. What is it?
You'd be surprised, ZED still refuses to fuse their amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
To answer your question, In this case I wouldn't rely on the internal protection circuitry to protect the amplifier from mishaps. I personally would fuse to the spec'd 15 amps, unless the amplifier isn't worth the 10 bucks for a new fuse holder //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yep having a 30amp fuse in front of a 15 won't hurt anything. But there's a good change that if you have a surge of 16amps or higher, that isn't caught buy the 30 amp fuse, you'll loose your amp
