Fuses

you need one fuse. in the power wire. to protect the wire.
the fuses in teh amp protect the amp.

thats it.

Since it is 1/0 I recommend getting an ANL fuse from knukonceptz, either 250 or 300amp. Make sure you put the fuse within 8" of the battery (Recommended 18", but I like the fuse as close as possible)

I'd just like to add...sure, 1/0 is good for up to 330A, however, the 2400D will NEVER need even 1/2 that much power.

A 300A fuse will do nothing for you except possibly blow the battery if you ever do short the 1/0 wire.

120A is a much better choice IMO.

I don't agree. Shorting a wire creates a very high and very fast spike in current pull (well over 300A.) The fuse burns long before the wire heats up.

Fusing for 120A is not a good choice, because if you ever decide to go bigger in your substage, then you'll have to buy a bigger fuse (wasted money)

Fuse 120a, Dont know WTF ultimate is smoking, U want the fuse to pop when it draws too much current that the amp cant handle ( which since the amp is rates a 3x40a = 120amps). If you fuse it with 300a and it draws a spike of 250a then the power fuse wont pop, but the ones on the amp should (probably blow something else with it to). You dont fuse the max power rating of the cable. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif if he's doing a huge upgrade to later to his substage im sure the extra $5 for a fuse will be worth it anyways. At least this way he wont blow what he has right now

i would like to hear your explanation of blowing a battery please //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you fuse to the wire... sure u can get by using a smaller fuse, but he could get by with smaller wire too, and yet he chose 1/0

just get a 250-300 amp anl fuse and you'll be fine

The only way for an amp to pull 250a is if it has already failed, and if it has already failed then the fuses on the amp should blow.
