Save the Savage!
I installed the goliath amp in my expedition yesterday and the amp does not work. The green light is on like its suppose to be when its working, but it will not send any power to the subwoofer. It should easily be able to pick up my solo x 18" as my kicker with only half the power; 2500rms was able to pick up this sub. This amp is suppose to be 5000rms.

I tried even putting some cheap kenwood 300rms subs and it would not pick them up either. I moved all the settings (gain, subsonic filter, phase shift, etc) with the stereo on and nothing would happen. I thought maybe something went wrong like I installed the rca cables in the wrong spot ( I tried moving through all of them, one of the speaker connections got loose inside the sub box, or one of the ground got loose or I blew a fuse. But when I reinstalled my kicker amp everything worked normal again.

I reinstalled the goliath amp again and the green light was on and the logo was lit but it wont pick up the sub no matter how much I tried messing with the settings or only using one channel then the second channel and running it bridged. I know that theres no power going to the spealer wires because when you unplug the positive or negative speaker wire on the terminal while the amp is on you'll see a spark, but nothing happens when I unplug the speaker wire from the speaker terminal, while the amp is on.

I hope you still have the warranty card, because I never received it. I cant return the amp to you untill I receive a refund and you cant refund my money untill I return the amp. Please contact me back, because if you dont then I will be filing a chargebcak with my credit card company and paypa.

Amp worked perfectly and I sold it as is, however, it is still under warranty. Fuc, I knew I should of just sold it to someone here.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

Did that. I'm not just going to refund some dicwad that fuced up the amp. I told him that I could arrange for him to send it to maxxsonics.

Did the person measure the output voltage/input voltage? If they don't have adequate power, amps will not produce any sound, so they won't clip, and burn themselves up. I don't know if this is true about the higher end Hifonics, but you never know. With it being sold as it, and him blatinly (sp?) saying he unhooked the speaker wires from the terminal while the amp was ON (Which we all know not to do, because it can cause damage.), I don't think you should have to refund. Have THEM send it in to a repair shop for an estimate, or see if it could have been something in their install (I know they said they checked everything, but again, you never know.) If the repair shop says it's fine, do nothing about it, if they say it needs repaired, then that's your choice whether or not to repair it for them, or refund the money. I personally do not think you are entitled to refund their money, because of the simple fact they COULD HAVE messed up the install, and could POSSIBLY be ripping you off, if the amp left your place, working fine.

He sounds like a toolbag based off that last paragraph.

Have him send it in under warranty- will someone other then Hifonics have to cover shipping? If so, sounds like he'll want that from you as well...

ya this guy on here acidfreze is doing the same thing to me. as i was selling the amp with my fi q it was running. seg reresentin and Kcha from this forums aw it running. so the guy buys the amp. worked cus they saw it running. acidfreeze buys it. said right as he hooks up the power and ground, all 4 fuses blow. it was a nine.1. he said his cap voltage went from 13.5-7.5 in the matter of 5 seconds, and he tried replacing the fuses and everything. now he wants a refund. people like that just piss me off. hopefully you dont get ****ed. good luck.

The cap voltage doesn't happen due to the amp being bunk...he ****ed something up.

I had this problem when my dumb a55 tried running 2 jl 1000/1 off my stock kia battery. I had to add a HC800 to get them to produce. What is he using to power the amp? May need to upgrade!

PayPal will NOT side with his ne hows, if he did receive it, which you have the proof that he did. Been down this road before, and PayPal says as long as he received it, they are done with it after this.

I'm not an *******. I sold it as is without warranty in the egay auction, but I informed him should a problem arise, it's under warranty. The best bet would be for him to ship it to me and I would personally take it to Maxx(20 minutes). However, I doubt he would go for that. I figured I could call them and ask if the new owner could ship it to them, but I'm not sure they would cover it that way.

I'd tell him to ship it to you and you'll have it warrantied, and that's his only option. You sold is as-is, meaning, it's as is...Paypal will not side with him should he file a claim.

Worst case scenario since you offered him insurance...

He sends amp back to you. You refund him money.

Then you just have to get the amp fixed yourself. After that, resale it to whoever wants it.

I didn't offer him insurance. I told him it was covered under the manufacturers warranty.
