Modded means upgrading the mosfets and/or internals of the amp to enable the amp to run at lower ohms like 1 ohm. I'm pretty sure but correct me if I'm wrong.

no, modding it is removing the surge protector (or something like that) that turns off the amp when either the impedance is too low or voltage is too high. very easy mod. just google it.

anyways, this is my favorite amp out of all the ones that i've owned. highly recommended.
