Sold FS: Mcintosh Mc440M

I'm running one of these at the moment with Rainbow platinum mids and hiquphon ow-1fs tweeters. The amp is simply incredible sounding... very powerful, never seems to strain at all, and never complains... just pumps out the pure sweetness. I doubt you would ever regret this purchase... these are built like tanks, look sweet and are like everready batteries.

One thing I think the seller forgot to remind you of is that the McIntosh amps all come with power-guard. If you like listening to your music loud and yet don't want to worry about replacing your tweeters because you scorched them with clipping wave... this is another big reason to pick up a Mcintosh. Powerguard is a sophisticated circuit that senses distortion and instantly cuts the volume below clipping in a manner that is totally transparent to the listener. Result: constant clean power to your precious drivers and the ability to enjoy your music as loud as you can take it without worry... can't be beat!

I just wish mine was in minty condition.

Can't speak for the seller, but if you want an SQ workhorse that has earned a reputation as one of the best amps ever made... this wouldn't be a bad consideration!

Good luck to all involved.

i will second the post 2 above. my father is a home audio geek and has only mcintosh amps and let me tell you. they are so nice that if i had 1000 dollars i would buy this amp right now. and i dont even have subs that will remotly handle the power that amp can dish out. my father is running 3800 watts a channel rms in our basment and it will shake your eyeballs at about half of what it is cappable of pushing. to add i belive all mcintosh amps could handle a dead short (my fathers home audio amps can) this is due to auto formers. they cause the amp to never accually see the ohm of the speaker. this means that you could have a dual .5 ohm sub and bridge the sub down to .25 ohms and be pushing sh!t loads of watts very very effitiently. and if i am wrong someone please correct me.
